Today I had to troubleshoot my own desktop video editing PC as I had a few recent BSOD or blue screens of death, which were all related to the Windows Memory Management sub systems.

To me, these are the easiest of all Windows errors to troubleshoot as the memory can be removed and checked for physical damage, you can also clean the memory sticks if needed, and if you have multiple RAM modules you can swap them around to see which one is faulty or has something that is preventing it from running correctly.
Top tips!
Use the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool built in to Windows from the start menu.
Remove the RAM and inspect for physical damage.
Clean the RAM modules and the RAM slots on the motherboard.
Make sure the RAM is seated fully into the motherboard slots.
Check that you are using the right CAS speeds for your RAM modules.
If you are overclocking – run at stock speeds to see if that fixes your problem.
Remove any grease or dirt from the golden contacts on the RAM sticks that might be preventing a good electrical contact.
Check for BIOS updates for your motherboard to ensure compatibility.
Try and avoid statically charged environments!
Maybe a lick will cure it?

My pc crashed mid memory diagnostic, i have no idea what to anymore, i tried everything you said but it still hase bsod.
This thing pops up everytime I'm in the middle of the game(league of legends) this happened 3 times already. Can you help me to figure out the problem of my pc?
Got it – lick my memory card! As soon as I figure out how to get to it
Funny how I have the same problem and the exact same ramstick
I'm in BIOS and I can see that under "Advanced" AdvancedCPU Configuration
Active Processor Cores it says 0 (ZERO)
Is that normal? It wouldn't seem to be.
I just added 32 gb RAM to my AlienWare X51 R7 (the computer is about four years old) which originally had 8 gb RAM.
But, after I installed the new 32 gb of RAM, when I started up the computer, a message popped up stating that the RAM had been changed, but it didn't tell me what to do after that.
Aside from your suggestions, which I hadn't even thought of, and which are excellent protocols, I still don't know how to get the computer to reboot with or for the new RAM.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, and have a great day!
Scan now says my ram is fine but when i opened my laptop again this morning it turned blue again. It was already ok yesterday. Or so I just thought?
hardware problems were detected windows 10 contac manufacture , i just already cleaned my ram stick with eraser and lick but the result is nothing, so if i buy a new ram ,
it's possible my laptop dont have hardware problem
pleaseee help meeeee>>>>>>>>
Hello thank you for your amazing video, Well I bought a new hp pavilion gaming 15 and after a week of usage Ive been getting blue screens and I ran Memtest86 and it shows errors, does that mean that I have to change my ram or it might just be because of dirt or ram is not well inserted in the motherboard ?
Hello. I've assembled my first PC a few days ago, and my system is quite unstable with the RAM on dual channel (a lot of BSOD's, I've also made a memtest and it suddenly had 500+ errors and the test was broken), but each stick on single channel is stable, I didn't had any error on memtest.
What should I do next?
Well lookie here, yet another independent small channel that has more useful information in the first 5 minutes than a dozen LTT videos.
Hi, Im having this problem recently and I don't know what to do, the diagnostic said that there's a problem in the hardware, my PC is assembled so I don't have a real customer of my pc cause I built it with some expert friends. So I think that the problem is probably the ram, I tried to clean it but the error persists. Now I'm thinking about a new ram but can it be a problem of the slot in the mother board?
Bsod Cache manager error please help me
I doubt i will get a response but ;
I have an issue where one stick of ram works but two doesnt. The pc and all its parts are brand new, and i dont know why, but my computer blue creens when i have 2 in after about an hour

I have this issue, and after quite a few reboots I can get it to start. I've tried resetting the RAM and that doesn't seem to help. I've also run the diagnosis and came up with nothing
Hi, I bought a pre built pc and when I tried to install windows 10, it kept giving me bsods, some of them where kernel security check failure, tried to write in a read only memory, and some others that I can't remember rn. Then I took out the ram in the second slot and it wouldn't give me more bsods, but now I have only 1 ram stick, I think there is a bad ram slot in my motherboard because I tested the bad ram stick on another build and it worked perfectly.
reminds me of how we used to fix the NES cartridges in order to play
Every time I try and update my drivers it blue screens
don't know if ur responding anymore but this just started happening all of a sudden
got 12gb of ram last week and it ran perfectly
now it started blue screening me everytime i opened an app, like google and etcetra.
can't seem to find whatever's causing it but i removed my old 4gb one and it works now
ps: it's an old pc with a i5 and gtx730, dunno if thats the issue cause i've heard some pc's can't handle alot of ram, i might be wrong though.
my ram got this problem and i tried with another ram it works fine how do i prevent it if i buy new one will it happen again? help please
Thx dude !
I got the same problem but after that when I try to run my pc nothing appear on screen, I think my RAMs are dead or something I dont know 🙁
this is insane
Hi, I bought my pc and put it together about a week ago, has been running fine, but it just started getting a bit laggy yesterday and when I started it up this morning I’m getting memory management error codes
Please I beg you, if anyone has suggestions, so I have 2 sticks, total 32gb, corsair vengeance, my computer has always bluescreens randomly after an electrical storm struck, I think my Xbox took the brunt of the surge, but ever since then my pc blue screens, I simply dealt with it for a while, then one time I powered it off, and removed a ram stick, then when I started it again it would just bluescreens, I've tried so many things, switching the sticks, running just one, I've tried all the windows 10 repair tools, command prompt, not even safe mode will start, re-image tool didn't find an image on my pc apparently, recently I switched the motherboard, and that did nothing, I really don't want to reset my computer, there are files I'm certain are tied to a program that I'm sure wouldn't be uninstalled along side the program, thus losing my progress, which I need
The error on the blue screen is 21a
Mike when i was playing for how many mins my pc just showed blue screen error code memory management
i just built my new gaming pc yesterday, for some reason when i go in the bios and want to enable xmp so i can get the full 3200mhz from my ram, however when i save and apply and want to boot in to windows i get a error that the pc couldn't boot whats the reason for this? im thinking a faulty stick maybe
I used memory diagnostic tools and it says I hava a memory problem and contact manufacturers. Do I have to buy a new ram? 🙁
I have a question. When I set 1 ram to my mobo, my pc is going fine. But when I set 2 ram in A1 and B1 slots, they got a problem when I checked in windows memory diagnostic, and sometimes I've got BSOD. I just checked 1 by 1 of these rams, they are ok when I checked in windows memory diagnostic. What's going on here? Btw my mobo is Asrock B450 Steel Legend
After hitting the diagnostic scan my pc doesn't boots up properly giving a blue screen
