I hope there wont be a season 2 but I also hope there will be a season 2 cause there just seems to be so much potential in this show that maybe a season 2 would make season 1 better?

I was so looking forward to this show, but after finishing the season I can't help but feel it left too many unanswered questions. I feel the creators just wanted to show cutesy girls literally tear each other apart, so they didn't bother developing any of the characters. It's a shame because the animation and character designs are pretty good (way better than any of Sailor Moon Crystal), and the premise was interesting.
I think a second season would've been a good way to flesh out the plot and character development more, maybe still not enough for 16 characters but still better than what we got. Not to mention, the worst thing about this show was the ending! Honestly, I feel if the ending doesn't deliver, it ruins the overall experience of watching the show.
I really do wish this show could've been better. Now I'm wondering about all the other MGRP stories…
Did he just say the “t” word? No ma’am
That’s a no no
Bro i thought this show gonna be an innocent magical girls show until i saw the mother fucking beginning and i was like uhh bitch? Misleading thumbnail for this anime. Yes.
I liked it lol

This show was good. Until halfway through episode 3 after the explanation and then the show dies as well as like 90% of the good characters.
EDIT: I should point out that they couldn't just take away the magic. It was explained in ep 3 that because after you are given the "magical girlness" or whatever, your body relies on it. After you take it away your "body ceases to function as a living being" as they say in the show.
nemu did not live more than two episodes and it was enough to create a freaking best.
i sweer the god to destroy lerche studio
ur rong
Tama: Sees swim swim's true identity
Also Tama: Oh fu-
I don't really have a problem with your review, you did misunderstand bits and pieces of the show but otherwise, you gave good points. But I like this show and how they gave a bit of character development each time a character dies. Though I do agree with not feeling bad for Sister Nana. I mean when she just stood there watching Winterprison die, couldn't she had, oh I don't know, buffed her powers so she has a better chance at surviving ?? That was stupid
I mean, this anime was bad, but not trash. And the weak point of this anime isn't character development, it's the plot.
You sound pretty much just like a hater.
wow, love the casual use of the t-slur…
"Hey bitch, you've been chosen to be a magical tranny!!!" THAT'S A DREAM COME TRUE BY THE WAY HAHAHAAH i'm a transwoman and I know you didn't like the show BUT I LIVE FOR THIS ANIME AND YOUR COMMENTARY BABE HAHA 💕💕💕💕💕😂💕💕💕💕💕
I absolutely hated Snow White. She was a useless, weak, judgemental b*tch who lacked any character development. I was really upset when Alice died and that dumb broad got keep living :{
Yeah the series kind of was just like murder p*** and just wanted to make little girls cry
I feel like in comparison to Madoka Magica she Mahou Shoujo site, the story was incredibly weak when it come to evoking emotion.
The 13 chapters of the manga didn’t allow enough for the characters to be developed or for you to make an emotional attachment, thus leading to not feeling anything when characters died.
You only fully learned the backstory of Ripple and Alice and had to make inferences about the others — that weren’t even that helpful or tragic. The world building could’ve been so much grander and taken the Magical Kingdom thing to a much larger level but instead it was just a missed opportunity. All we know is that the Magical Kingdom is orchestrating all of this — but not how and why.
Unlike the former, I did even cry or feel any kind of despair nor hope from reading the manga. And it’s fatal flaw that translates into the manga.
It establishes right from the beginning that deaths will occur as it explains the premise — leaving you to feel no surprise when over 80% of the characters die. This is so unlike Madoka or Site in which they take original hope of magical girls, bring your hopes up — then brutally crush it and turn that hope into an endless despair.
Sure, Snow White had character development. But it wasn’t enough nor significant to completely change her in-a-way naïve way of thinking. Gradually Turning her into the thing she despised the most could’ve been a far more interesting turn of events and would’ve nicely set up the events necessary for a second season and more exploration into the magical kingdom.
Overall, I give the manga a 5/10. It had so much potential but was wasted for the unnecessary want by the author for physical violence instead of psychological. What makes death sad is usually not the manner in which they die but instead what causes it — and an overbearing perseverance presented by the person to live. A mental death is far sadder than a physical one.
Wait, we're only one point in and the review is already getting things wrong.
"If they're good at the game they're chosen"
No…??? Pon just sort-of picks whoever he wants, there's even a scene where a character asks why they've been chosen and Pon just says "I picked you because it would be interesting", heavily implying he actively chose a violent psychopath just because he wanted someone violent to make the killing game more fun for him.
I don't want to just be like "If you hate this show then you're bad" or something, like it's all opinions and stuff, but it doesn't exactly look great when the very first thing in a review on a series is factually wrong. Heck, I'm pretty sure we even see people get chosen right as they sign up for the app or just by holding it for a second. The game itself is 100% superfluous, it's just a way for Pon to offer them the deal. Which is kind-of a shame, because having to get good at a crappy mobile game to gain supernatural powers would be pretty funny if handled right.
I'm going to be honest I too think that this show failed to be dark
HEY ! ! ! RESPECT PLEASE ! ! ! IT WAS À VERY GOOD SHOW OK ! ? ! ?
A 'boy, who is so obsessed with magical girl shows, a genre wich tends to have heavy lgbt undertones, to the point 'he' actualy becomes a magical girl…spot the egg…
I hated it. Except for the protagonist, all the others magical girls that are kind and good die. All the killing was futile and all the magical girls that died could have survived. Such good characters wasted.
This story is a waste of time. But I admit that the design of the magical girls is creative.
The anime was okay, I only liked it because the characters were adorable
Either you are unable to read or you were making a peanut butter and sandwich during Tama's death because she clearly stated that she killed Tama because Tama saw her true identity.
Wtf do you mean too much bro ? It's a survival genre with 12 episodes I fail to see what's so bad about it. Personally I enjoyed it. Btw bro I prefer the old version of sailor moon. Salior moon Crystal is a hot mess! GARBAGE… It tries to recreate the romeo and juliet shit for 2 seasons I couldn't stomach season 1 at all .so not sure if it was 2 or not!
Who the fuck in the right mind watch sailor moon of Course if you are a basement dweller I can understand
i love this show and the novels, but i do agree with you on the character development
R u gay?
Why do we not see swim swims backstory we know so little about her
Y’all did ya know that swim swim is 7? When I was 7 I was playing with cars cause cars are better than Barbies not killing kids in there late teens like damn…
Bro I swear fav is like Kubey but like also momokuma? Who even knows!?
I don't disagree, however it is obviously what they were going for was heavy use of tropes, archetypes and very nice character designs to get people on board quickly. Nearly everyone has a favorite character or two almost right away. I don't want to say it is bad story writing or laziness, since they clearly go through a lot of trouble to establish the character using those other methods, since they know they can't go into them a lot with the short season. So really it comes down to, can you pick out a favorite girl and get invested through cute character design and some sympathetic moment or not? If so the show can be very enjoyable, and if not I can see why one might not like it. Also, there is of course danger that the one character you identify with gets killed very early.
Modoka
Oof
